Urgent Complaint :initial quote $90.40 vs final bill $543.13, deceptive bait-and-switch pricing. I visited Toyota of Anaheim today for a routine service. service advisor sent me a written quote for "Brake Job - Front (Replace Pads and Rotors)" showing $90.40. I accepted this quote and authorized front-axle work only. When I collected the vehicle the invoice had ballooned to $543.13. The bill silently included four-wheel brake service, parts and labor I never requested, and no one disclosed the added cost before work began. When I asked for an explanation the staff simply said "that's the way it is" and insisted I pay the full amount. California B&P Code §9884.7 requires written authorization for any work exceeding the original estimate. Charging for four brakes while quoting one axle is a clear bait-and-switch practice under §17200. I immediately requested my old parts and have retained the original quote, final invoice, and photos of the removed components. I demand: 1. A refund of the difference between the quoted front-axle price and the unauthorized four-axle charge. 2. A written breakdown validating every line item. 3. Assurance that this misleading quotation process is corrected. Resolution Sought A refund of the difference between the quoted front-axle price and the unauthorized four-axle charge.
