Wasn't told about the car being stick shift

My long time car died last year so I came to get a car. I know they are as is so its not an issue. I got an older car and went to pick it up. The man told me if I knew it was stick shift. I didn't. They didn't tell me and I asked a couple of people why they didn't tell me and I got a blank stare and someone else said " Well what do you want us to do?" Really? I thought that maybe I missed the announcement but their reaction showed that it was done on purpose. Not professional at all. I lost $100 towing the car and got it sold luckily but I still have no car.
