Probably scammed. Yup definitely scammed.

About a month ago, my roof was steadily deteriorating and required repairing. I got a couple of quotes and Nick's quote was better than the other quote. He then talked a ton about his mother being dead, and I felt his pain. I lost my mother a few years ago, and it's pretty rough. A few days later, he arrived and took a look at my roof. He pointed out all of the issues. He gave me a quote of $6500 cash upfront for the repair. He tarred the roof and didn't use any tar mats. My Dad even told him not to repair the roof yet because it was going to rain shortly. However, Nick insisted on repairing the roof anyway. About 36 hours later, it rained and the "not so fully dry tar" started to slide towards the back-end of the roof. I was truly disappointed because he did a very poor job. His crap job became even more obvious when there were leaks visible at certain parts of the top floor about a few weeks later. All I have to say is that I'd avoid doing business with this guy. Find a more reliable roofer because Toros Roofing of NYC did the worst roofing I have ever seen in my life. BTW, Nick hasn't even given my receipt yet. It's been five weeks Nick! I get that you are grieving, but it only takes a minute. We called you numerous times, and you refuse to pick up the phone. At this point, you lied and cheated us in the middle of a recession. Shame on you, Nick.
