Complainants allege a variety of billing and service related complaints. Some complainants report that calls are sometimes disconnected with out being prompted or increments of time disappear from their cards. Other customers complain they are charged for calls not connected or that the advertised number of minutes are not actually on the card. Some customers complain the company fails to follow through on posting credits or refunds or they are unable to speak with anyone able to resolve billing issues. In some cases complainants are retailers who sell the cards alleging their customers are complaining.~~The company responds to all complaints by asking complainants to provide copies of the cards along with PIN numbers so they can investigate the allegations by issuing refunds or credits or providing explanations for charges or usage.

Calling cards are often sold at newsstands and grocery stores and are meant to be a convenient affordable tool for users that make frequent international calls and may not have regular access to telephone service. ~~The BBB routinely recommends that card users test card service by buying a small denomination first to check out the service. Ask the retailer if they stand behind the card if the telephone service is unsatisfactory. It's important to remember that the store where the card is purchased from doesn't control the quality of the service. ~~Remember very low rates particularly for international calls may indicate poor customer service or a sign that hidden fees and surcharges apply. Always look for disclosures about surcharges monthly fees per-call access in addition to advertised rate-per-minute. Check for expiration dates. Some cards expire after a certain amount of time. Make sure the card comes in a sealed envelope or has a sticker covering the PIN. Otherwise anyone who copies the PIN can use the phone time you've already paid for.
