Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) Explained The Complaint Resolution Index (CRI) is an indicator on how responsive a company is in addressing and resolving customer complaints brought to their attention by BCA. Some complainants allege they received a past due notice for a Yellow Page advertisement, a listing authorization form to update a directory listing, or an invoice for advertising services that they did not authorize, or request. Other complainants state the solicitation letter is deceptive because it looks like it is from their local advertiser. One customer claims the authorization form to update information is misleading because by signing the agreement the customer is actually agreeing to purchase the advertisement and the terms on the reverse side of the form. The company responds to most complaints by cancelling accounts, issuing refunds, or indicating that they will no longer be sending any future solicitations, or invoices. In other cases, the company states they had no record of the customer cancelling the account, and there is no obligation to pay, if the customer is not completely satisfied.
